Regulation 19

Sevenoaks District Council has opened the final public consultation, Regulation 19, on its new local plan. The Wasps stadium, has been removed but the controversial plans for 2,600 new homes at Pedham Place remain.

Regulation 19 will run for 8 weeks until 11.59pm on Thursday 17 September 2026 - This is your final opportunity to make your views known.

Pedham Place - the golf course in Farningham, crossing the boarder to Eynsford and abutting Crockenhill, is being considered for a mixed-use development for up to 2,600 homes and employment space.

Farningham Parish Council will again be working closely with parish councils in Farningham and Eynsford to submit a strong objection to this element of the plan. It lies in protected Green Belt and National Landscape. There are serious concerns about the sustainability of the site and its impact on traffic around Junction 3 and through the local villages.

The new Local Plan will guide what can be built and where between 2027 and 2042 and includes sites put forward by landowners and developers to meet the Government’s new local housing target of 17,460 houses that must be built over the lifetime of the Plan.

As part of the ‘Regulation 19 Publication’, you cannot suggest new development options. Instead, your comments must focus on whether the new Local Plan is compliant with the relevant national planning legislation and if it is ‘sound’, in other words based on evidence, meets future need, is deliverable and promotes sustainable development.

Public Information Events

Farningham Parish Council will be hosting two information events for residents on the emerging Local Plan:

• Friday 14 August, 10am to midday, Farningham Village Hall

• Tuesday 25 August, 5pm to 6:45pm, Farningham Village Hall

Local Plan Timeline

• Regulation 18 Consultation – 23rd October to 11th December.

• Pre-submission Publication (Regulation 19 consultation) – Summer 2026

• Submission – before 31 December 2026

• Examination by the Planning Inspector – 2027
